Data Deletion Policy

info 1. Overview

At Bima Connect, we respect your right to privacy and your right to be forgotten. This policy explains how you can request the deletion of your personal data and how we process these requests.

touch_app 2. How to Request Deletion

You can request the deletion of your personal data or your entire account through the following methods:

• In-App: Log in to your Bima Connect account, navigate to Settings > Account Security, and click the "Request Account Deletion" button.
• By Email: Send an email to privacy@bima-connect.co.ke from the email address associated with your account, stating your request for data deletion.

Upon a verified deletion request, we will permanently remove or anonymize your personal identifying information, including:

• Your name, email address, and phone number.
• Your login credentials and account profile.
• Payment methods and billing profiles (excluding transaction history required for tax purposes).
• Direct communication history with our support team.

save 4. Data Retention Exceptions

Please note that we may not be able to delete all of your data immediately. We are required to retain certain information under applicable laws, including:

• Financial Records: Transaction and billing history must be kept for up to 7 years for tax and accounting compliance.
• Insurance Compliance: Records related to bound insurance policies, claims, and regulatory reporting may be retained as required by the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA) of Kenya.
• Security & Fraud: Data necessary to detect, prevent, and mitigate fraud or security incidents.

We aim to process all valid data deletion requests within 30 days of receiving and verifying your request. If the request is complex, it may take up to 60 days, in which case we will notify you of the delay.
